Can Chiropractic Improve Aging?

With baby boomers (those born between 1946-1964) turning 65 at a rate of 8000 individuals per day, the anti-aging business has continued to boom.  Now comes a study showing chiropractic can reduce oxidative stress levels in your body.  Simply put, oxidative stress causes cell damage in your body, which in turn increases signs of aging.

How Does This Work?

Your central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) represents the primary system for all function and healing in your body.  This includes telling all 75 trillion cells in your body what to do and how to do it. God also created this amazing system to seamlessly withstand the constant onslaught of exterior stress that our body faces.  However, physical stress to your nervous system can occur as a result of a spinal misalignment. This disrupts the normal communication between your brain and body, which triggers an increase in cortisol (the stress hormone).  Chiropractic care removes this pressure on your nervous system allowing for normal healing to occur.  It's essentially like a re-boot to your systems internal computer system.  This is now proven to be powerful for anti-aging,

How Do Spinal Misalignments Happen?

We can never completely prevent spinal misalignments from happening, but we can reduce the frequency at which they occur, and how long they last.  The majority of spinal misalignments happen from various trauma. These include bad posture, poor sleep habits, repetitive activities, falls, accidents, sports, and many more. Outside of the traditional physical causes, they can also happen from abnormal stress levels, poor dietary habits, repeated exposure to toxic chemicals, and many more.  Essentially, we can't rid ourselves of causes completely, but we can help manage it with regular spinal check-ups.

How Often Should You Get Your Spine Checked?

This is a tricky question because everyone is at different places in their life, and have different amounts of regular stress they are exposed to.  What I will say as a rule of thumb is generally somewhere between 2 and 4 times per month.   Our goal with chiropractic is to make you the best expression of yourself you can be.  Paired with a healthy lifestyle, regular chiropractic care can allow you to live the healthy life of your dreams.....and now maybe look a little younger doing it.

That's a how chiropractic care can help you...

LIVE well. BE well.
