Asthma Trouble? Chiropractic Might Be Your Answer...

According to the CDC, the chronic lung condition known as asthma plagues nearly 25 million people in the U.S. every year, including 6.8 million children.  Asthmatics struggle to breath, from swollen bronchioles in the lungs that often fill up with mucus.  Asthma has now become the most common chronic condition among children.  Medicine offers no cure for asthma, but rather seeks to manage the symptoms with inhaled corticosteroid drugs.  These drugs can cause addiction over time, and even death with heavy use.

What Causes Asthma?

Research is continuing to show an association children vaccinated and an increased risk of asthma.  Asthma is very rare in non-vaccinated children.  Antibiotic use during the first year of life has also been shown to increase the risk of asthma during early childhood. Aside from those initial risk factors, asthma is directly tied back to nervous system interference either in your neck or upper back.

Physiopathic changes in spinal structure actually produce an inhibition of nerve impulses. Subjective and clinical findings include severe asthma attacks and bronchial asthma.
— Neville Usher, M.D.

When vertebrae in these delicate areas become misaligned, they produce interference to spinal nerve impulses going to the lungs impacting overall function.  These misalignments are called vertebral subluxations.

The Chiropractic Approach

Chiropractors are specially trained at detection and correction of vertebral subluxations.  It is never too early, or too late to begin to take care of your spine and nervous system to improve your respiratory health. Studies continue to show a significant improvement in asthma symptoms for those under chiropractic care. You will not only be breathing easier, but your entire body will heal and function better as a result of improved nervous system function.  Be sure to get you and your family's spine checked today!
