As I mentioned at the end of my previous blog, we are launching a new initiative called ChiroPRACTICAL. The objective is to help you focus and plan for the life you deserve. We also hope that you share stories with us on how chiropractic has changed your life. What do you enjoy doing now, that was difficult before you began care?
Today I want to share what ChiroPRACTICAL means to me...
As many of you may know, I have been around chiropractic since I was quite young. I have been under regular chiropractic care since I was a child, and worked in my brothers office while I was in high school. To me, chiropractic is not just my profession, but a way of life. I believe the care I have received in my lifetime, along with a healthy lifestyle, to be the primary reasons I have been blessed with incredible health to this point. This has allowed me to enjoy life, and pursue some physical endeavors that were beyond my wildest dreams.
It is good to push yourself outside of your comfort zone from time to time.
In 2009, after years of playing sports, including long distance running, I decided to give the world of triathlon a try. The only problem....I didn't know how to swim (yeah I know, minor detail). After a period of intense lessons and tons of practice, I eventually conquered my fear and became a swimmer. That year I competed in multiple triathlons. Fast forward to 2012, I along with my wife, competed and finished our 1st Ironman Triathlon in Mount Tremblant, Quebec. For those not familiar with the sport, this entails a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run. Back in 2009, I could not swim one length of a pool. If you told me that I would accomplish this feat, I would have said you were crazy.
I tell you this story not to brag, but to inspire you. You can always accomplish more than your brain allows you to believe. With a healthy lifestyle, a positive mental attitude, and regular chiropractic care, you can achieve amazing things in your life.
Get busy living the chiropractic lifestyle, and share your ChiroPRACTICAL stories with us...
LIVE well. BE well.
