What Are We Teaching Our Children?

DerekBellPic.jpg

What I am about to say may rub a few people the wrong way, and put in to question what you might be doing with your own children.  That is not my goal.  I simply want make you think for a minute about the status quot from my point of view, and to open your mind to a different way of thinking health in general.  Individual growth cannot happen unless we are willing to leave behind the old, and accept something new in full faith...

We live in a country (and in most cases a world) where we subconsciously train our children from the time they are born that their body is weak and incapable of surviving without help from outside in.  Pills and various drugs are needed to survive.  From nearly the day they are born, they are put on an aggressive vaccination schedule that we are told will "help" there body stave off sickness and disease.  This is to say that we are born incapable of that.  From this point on we begin giving them cough syrup, Tylenol, inhalers, antibiotics, Ritalin, etc. all in the name of trying to make them "feel better" or "fit in" .  This is then reinforced by drug commercials on TV as they watch their Saturday cartoons.

Should it be a surprise then, and should we be heartbroken when these same kids turn to drugs and alcohol as teenagers in order to "feel better", "fit in", and cope with life's ups and downs?  Harsh?  Maybe, but it hopefully will make you think about the current healthcare crisis we are in the midst of in this country.  One thing is for sure, we will never get out of it if we try and solve it with the same level of thing that created it.

I am going to leave you with one final thought that is a quote from Dr. B.J. Palmer who was the developer Chiropractic.  "And yet you ask, 'Can Chiropractic cure appendicitis or the flu?'  Have you more faith in a knife or a spoonful of medicine than the power that animates the living world?"
